We stand with Ukraine. Following Russia's invasion of the country, we committed to donating 5% of every order in Europe to non-governmental organizations (NGOs) over a two-week period starting March 1st.
It was a direct donation and had no influence on order prices, driver and courier earnings. Each Bolt trip and Bolt Food delivery thus contributed to the total amount.
Thanks to our customers, we donated a total of over 5 million euros. As well as transferring money, some incredible initiatives have been brought to life by our own big-hearted staff who just want to help.
We have already mentioned some of the NGOs that received financial support from Bolt . In the following, we talk about several organizations that have received donations and provide insight into how the money will be used.
The United Nations Refugee Agency ( UNHCR ) uses the donation to protect the rights of refugees and help build a better future for those forcibly displaced from Ukraine. Thanks to a major regional donation, we have been able to support their operations in Ukraine and in the bordering countries of Romania, Poland, Hungary, Slovakia and Moldova.
